As the Uttar Pradesh elections are entering a penultimate phase on 3rd March, Varanasi is set to be the center of the campaign.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be going to stay in his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi for three days (March 3 -5). On 3rd March, Modi will be addressing public meetings in Chadauli and Jaunpur districts. On the same day, Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee will address a joint public meeting. Varanasi district has eight assembly segments.
In the 2017 assembly elections, BJP had won six seats whereas its allies Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), and Apna Dal (S) had won each.
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and other senior leaders from the central and state party unit are expected to camp in Varanasi with the PM to monitor the campaign in Varanasi and adjoining districts.
On 4th March, Narendra Modi will address rallies in Bhadohi and Mirzapur.
