Goa Election: Congress Leaders From Goa Meet Rahul Gandhi As Counting Day Nears

On Saturday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met party leaders from Goa ahead of votes counting for the Assembly elections on 10th March and reviewed the political situation in the state. Congress Party Goa desk in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao, state unit chief Girish Chodankar, and Digambar Kamat met Rahul Gandhi in Delhi.

Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal and Goa state Congress party’s election in-charge P Chidambaram were also present for the meeting.

Congress contested the recently-held Goa Assembly elections 2022 in alliance with the Goa Forward Party.

In the 2017 Goa Assembly polls, Congress had won the maximum 17 seats and BJP got 13 seats in the 40-member House.

However, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) outwitted the Congress and formed a government with the help of regional parties under the Manohar Parrikar’s leadership.
