On Monday, Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi promised to provide one lakh government jobs to the youth if Congress retains power in the state assembly polls that are scheduled to take place on 20th February.
During a press conference in Chandigarh Channi said, “On being retaining the power, we will provide one lakh government jobs to the youth belongs the state. Education is most important for the development of Punjab state but it is very expensive these days.”
Punjab CM Channi who is contesting elections from the Bhadaur Assembly constituency in Barnal district said it is the government’s responsibility to ensure that each and every family is educated in the state.
Chief Minister Charanjit Channi also said, “The state government has to ensure that each and every family of Punjab state is educated, hence, we will provide free education in government schools and colleges to the ones who cannot afford it. We will also bring scholarship schemes to support this policy”.
Charanjit Singh Channi has also been announced as Chief Ministerial face of Congress for the upcoming polls.
Punjab state will go to polls on 20th February and votes’ count on 10th March.
